What Happens When a Domain Expires?
If your domain is not renewed before its expiry date, the following stages occur:
1. Grace Period (0–30 Days)
- Your website and emails stop working immediately.
- You can renew the domain at the regular price without extra charges.
2. Redemption Period (30–60 Days)
- The domain enters a holding state where it cannot be used.
- You can still recover it, but a penalty fee may apply.
3. Public Auction or Deletion (After 60 Days)
- The domain is either sold at auction or deleted and made available for others to purchase.
- Once deleted, anyone can buy it, and you may lose your brand identity.
